2023 A Toast to Triumphs and Tenacity
As we reflect on the twists and turns of 2023, We’re filled with gratitude for the remarkable journey that has been The Daiquiri Box's narrative. It's a tale of triumphs, setbacks, and the unwavering optimism that keeps us moving forward against all odds.
A Setback Turned Opportunity:
Our year began with a victorious contract for the perfect property, only to be met with the harsh reality of a rejected loan application. It felt like a setback, but little did we know, it was just the beginning of a year that would redefine us. Determined to forge ahead, we made the strategic decision to step back, gracefully withdrawing from the lease and refusing to let exorbitant interest rates dampen our spirits.
Heartwarming Milestones:
The turning point came with a heartwarming commercial for our fundraising campaign. With the support of neighbors and friends, we transformed a swimming pool into a vision of joy and camaraderie. The postponement of some plans became a mere detour, as the commercial is poised to captivate audiences in the spring of 2024, marking the beginning of a new chapter.
Tasting Success in Downtown Denton:
Our inaugural Daiquiri tasting in Downtown Denton was a testament to our resilience. A speakeasy vibe, easygoing music, and a delectable Creole menu revealed that our flavors were hitting the right notes. Critical feedback and overwhelming support reaffirmed that we were on the right path, solidifying our determination to succeed.
Giving Back with Purpose:
In the spirit of giving back, we proudly sponsored Brown Girls Do Ballet's first Ballerina's Ball, aligning with our values of supporting young women of color in the world of ballet. The event, attended by over 300 people, allowed us to introduce mocktail daiquiri flavors and contribute to a cause close to our hearts.
A Pivotal Pivot:
As plans for our physical store were temporarily put on hold, we pivoted to a mobile bartending service. The year concluded with us bartending at a $12 million real estate listing in Aubrey, TX, hosted by Jenna Hyde. Additionally, we were honored by an invitation from LilD Onair of K104fm Hip-Hop and R&B. This was a special opportunity to craft daiquiris not only for LilD herself but also for her esteemed staff members and other renowned DJs like J Rudd. Our presence extended to the smooth sounds of Smooth R&B 105.7, where we had the pleasure of serving daiquiris to personalities such as Keith Solis and the Lynne Haze.
Gearing Up for 2024:
The goal for 2024 is to raise our own capital, eliminating reliance on banks. Excitement brews as we've secured bookings for weddings, million-dollar real estate listings, and bridal expos, promising an exhilarating year ahead.
